About Me
I’ve been taking photographs for a little over 20 years. Whenever I had the opportunity to capture something, I did. Back then, it was mostly about snapping casual shots.
My first time in the center of Rotterdam was in the early 2000s. A whole new world opened up for me. A city with an enormous variety of elements and buildings to photograph. It was also the city where I work for years with pleasure, and one I’ll continue to photograph every time I return to this beautiful city. Besides Rotterdam, I also enjoyed photographing other Dutch and European cities.
In 2020, I was pleasantly surprised on my birthday: my wife and children gave me a DSLR camera as a gift! This was at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that period, I discovered and visited more cities and places in the Netherlands, locations I normally would never have paid attention to before. It was a time when the phrase “Google is your friend” truly proved itself, helping me uncover hidden routes to certain spots.
Now, back on the island “Dushi Korsou,” my exploration has started anew. The island is not unfamiliar territory for me, but after all these years I see things from a different perspective, noticing details I paid little or no attention to in my younger years. This makes photographing the island even more enjoyable, especially in a place with quite a few professional photographers who focus mainly on concerts, birthday parties, weddings, and, above all, news. That makes it all the more fun for me to explore nature, capture the landscape, and, of course, search for new photography companions.
I continuously keep track of developments in photography and follow both well-known and lesser-known visual artists. In addition, I read books on photography and articles online. I apply the techniques I’ve learned and sometimes add my own experiments while shooting.
Ideally, I would like to photograph somewhere else on this planet every day, before or after work. I keep and present my photos as original as possible, and I perform additional image editing where necessary. I love sharing with viewers the feeling and experience I had while capturing each photo.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
